Our Anniversary Weekend Fun!

13 weeks 5 days...

Six years ago on June 14th, I married the most wonderful man I could have ever imagined meeting! Our wedding was simple yet unforgettable and that is kind of how our lives together has been. We've not done a lot of traveling or bought alot of expensive items...but when we do go some place or buy something we always have ever lasting memories. And now that we have a child...those memories are more fun and those trips are definitely unforgettable! I don't think God has ever really "tested" our marriage...but I think he does "test" us as people and so far we are passing! This weekend definitely one of those that we were tested and I think we came out of fairly good and in one piece!

So Friday we left to go to Rough River. It's about 50 miles southeast of Owensboro, KY. We were there over Memorial Day weekend and had a pretty good time. We left our camper there so the next time we came down we could bring a boat and go swimming. So we took Jeremy's mom and dad's boat. Unlike the time before...we made it down there with no problems and no flat tires...Thank God for that! Once we arrived is when the nightmares began...

1st...the air conditioning and fridge/freezer in the camper wouldn't work. We have no idea why because it worked fine the last time we were there. Luckily that night was kind of cool and our friend had a fridge in his pole barn that we unloaded everything in. So no big deal there...just a little frustration. We went into town (about 20 miles away) and ate @ this amazing Mexican restaurant. The food was really good and the prices were not too bad either. So things are starting to be ok and we forget about the frustration of the camper.

Then Saturday comes. We planned on going boating for the majority of the day (since we had no AC). We were getting ready to get in the truck when I decided that I should try to go to the bathroom. So we all walked back up to the pole barn. I'm not 100% how Crystal got up on these stairs...but while I was in the bathroom I heard a couple of thuds, crying, and Jeremy saying "Oh Shoot!" I knew it couldn't be good. Got Crystal up on the table and looked and her top front tooth was broken into 2 pieces...a front and back. Luckily she didn't bite through her lip...so I took her down to the camper and called the after hours clinic. The nurse said as long as she didn't need stitches...just give her Tylenol and keep her calm and call her dentist Monday morning. Crystal was upset, Jeremy was mad @ himself, and I was confused and didn't start feeling to well...so we all laid down for a few minutes to calm down. Well...I didn't have any Tylenol to give her so we were just going to pack everything up and head home.

After about 15 mins. Crystal gets back up and says she feels better and still wants to go swimming. So we decided to go ahead and put the boat in. The water was CRAZY!!!!!! It was like trying to boat on the White River w/20 times the traffic and big speed boats that would run you over if you didn't watch out for them. Finally we found a little bay...away from the boats...and we got to swim. Crystal swam and we ate lunch and then swam some more. After about 3 hours we decided to put the boat up and then go back to the camper and start packing to head home.

By this time we are all mentally wore out! We somehow find a way to get everything packed and head home. It felt soooo good to be in AC and to finally be home. At least we made it home in 1 piece!

So Monday morning, I took Crystal down to Evansville Pediatric Dentristy in Evansville. They x-rayed her tooth and said the roots were damaged and there were exposed nerves so it needed to be pulled. She really like the dentist until they pulled her tooth (which they gave her laughing gas and a shot). She's a little upset because she thinks another tooth won't come in. But until her big tooth does come in she got fitted for a false one. They said it could take up to 5 years for the tooth to come in...and we didn't want her to go that long. She gets that on 7/5 and decided she wants to switch dentists and have the "funny dentist" clean her teeth because she got to watch a movie. She also got to eat ice cream for lunch and then I gave her Tylenol and she's taking a pretty good nap right now. I think it'll take her a little to get use to that tooth not being there...but after that tooth fairy comes tonight...I'm afraid she'll be wanting to pull all of her teeth out!!

She is such a little warrior and I'm so glad she doesn't let the little things bother her. Even though our weekend didn't go as planned I'm just glad nothing else major happened!
*** I know this is a little late...but we are all thinking the camper got struck by lightening and that's why things aren't working. Jeremy's going to look into it. Crystal is doing good wo/her tooth...she thinks it's pretty cool being able to stick her tongue through the hole! I had no worries that she would find something entertaining about not having that tooth there...lol!! ****
